I'm not surprised at the long-lasting popularity of the workI have been aware of the existence of this book/author since ancient times, since I was a student, more than 60 years ago. I have been awakened to reading only recently in a very special way, from the book Занимательная Етика (Practical Ethics) by my Moscow friend Lev Balashov. In this super class book, LB keeps referring to Dale Carnegie's book. Now, after reading the book, I don't wonder why at all. The idea and spirit of both works are so pervasively similar. Balashov deals with ethics in an impeccable (popular) scientific way, Carnegie lacks a scientific point of view, but the power of practice and example cases is even stronger. Both first present the matter, the problem, and then a practical solution to it. The pervasive idea is a positive approach, positive treatment and solution. Good conquers evil. Do ut dec. Do unto others what you would have them do unto you. Don't do to others what you wouldn't want them to do to you. The golden rule of neighborly love, also the core of all religions.
