Onion Tart Lyonnaise

Make a pie crust (Salli's was great last time) and bake for 10 minutes in 425 degree oven.


Proceed as follows

  1. Saute the chopped onions in the butter until soft only.
  2. Cool. mix well the other ingredients except the nutmeg.
  3. Put the onions on the bottom of the partly baked pie shell.
  4. Pour the mixture over all. Sprinkle nutmeg on top.
  5. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes, according to the recipe.
    1. My friend and I find it takes longer -- 40 to 45 minutes.
  6. Test it with a knife to see if done -- knife should be almost clean.
